I'yard Australian but call myself an Aussie Brit because I've lived in the United kingdom of great britain and northern ireland for decades & had my iii children here. I enjoyed a successful career every bit a pilus & make up creative person for twenty years then at 38 gave it all up to have my babies.

I am 48.

I started blogging merely over a year ago because I needed an outlet for my creativity & love of mode. I've been in honey with manner & design since I was a kid & working every bit a hair & make upwards artist was very fulfilling.

My signature way is definitely retro, yet with a modern twist. Although I am partial to any era, it just depends if information technology suits my torso.

I never look at "trends" as such. I've spent my life experimenting with style & take found what shapes suit me all-time but that aren't necessarily on tendency. Being over forty has given me the confidence to clothing any I like then if I call back information technology looks skillful and so that's pretty much it.

Confidence is the secret. Nothing else matters.

I've always had a talent for creating many outfits out of very few items of habiliment and I believe anyone tin achieve this. I actually go a kick out of information technology when I style a new outfit from old apparel!

Has your style changed at all after turning 40?

My body has changed little over the years although I've noticed my skin texture & elasticity has. I'thousand about five'8″ My weight has always returned to normal later on every baby with very lilliputian effort.

I put this downwardly to two things – Having breastfed all 3 children for a total of 5 years & genetic good luck. I withal wear pretty much everything I always have.

In fact many of my "fashion" choices take come back in trend two or three times over. I've been able to pull some rather aboriginal sometime loves out of the back of my wardrobe & article of clothing them again.

Do yous have whatsoever favorite brands?

Some of my favourite High Street brands are Whistles, Jigsaw, AllSaints, French Connection, Maje.

Designers I love are Isabel Marant, Acne Studios, Chanel, Prada, Gianvito Rossi.

What is your current body type and pinnacle and what are your best tips for dressing these?

I accept trunk shape into account when I style my outfit then information technology will exist equally flattering as possible. I'm very in tune with my shape because it hasn't actually inverse. I feel I know my torso & what works for me automatically.

I don't have a dazzler routine. I similar Bio Oil on my face at night, especially in Winter. I endeavor to use products with as few ingredients equally possible.

I avoid annihilation containing micro plastics because they pollute the oceans & sealife so I apply Apricot facial scrub which is made from the crushed seed. Exfoliation & wide spectrum sunscreen are my just constant daily routine.

What are your plans for Retrochic Mama and how do y'all run across it develop over the coming years?

I'm turning 50 next twelvemonth & with RetroChicMama I have found new purpose in my life along with an exciting career. Every mean solar day there'due south something to larn particularly on the technical side of blogging. Although I work many hours perfecting my posts, the days fly by & I adore every minute of it!

What's more than heady, since my post-obit has grown, I realise there are many avenues I tin can explore in the hereafter. I'm hoping to farther the TRAVEL & DECOR aspects of RCM. My dream is to create a habitation style line as RCM Interiors that inspires women to be bold in decorating their rooms.
